ARCHITECTURE AS ART

HISTORIC RENOVATION PROJECTS

I have always been fascinated by old buildings and their history. An historic site lovingly restored tells a great story. But what about the story of the renovation effort itself? This question has led me down the path of historic renovation photography. Not fine art. Not commercial work either. I see it as a sub-genre of architectural work. The only rule that I apply is that it must showcase the human element of the restoration effort. Many of these projects are extremely difficult and a true labor of love for all concerned. Their story needs to be told in as much detail as possible. And given the tight budgetary constraints such projects usually have, it has to be done in a cost effective way.

If you are engaged in, or know of, a renovation project,  be it proposed, ongoing or just beginning, I hope you will contact me directly. Together we can make the narrative happen. Ideally I would like to offer my work on a cost plus expenses basis or some other arrangement suitable to the overall project budget.
